It seems that increasing amount of heavy metals is transfered to fly ash under higher gas flow rates, as effect of particle attrition and entrainment from the FB. The experimental results suggest that for efficient combustion of dried sewage sludge in static or circulating fluidized bed the temperature should be higher than 850°C.

In the present work, the rate of the reduction of divalent palladium with formaldehyde was determined in several inorganic solutions. The effect of temperature and Pd2+ concentration on the reaction rate is discussed, a simple kinetic model of the process is proposed and tested, and its parameters are calculated for specific conditions.

ZnO fly dust arising during the zinc removal from galvanized low alooy sheets was investigated on a laboratory scale to obtain electrolytic zinc. The electrolysis was performed with refined zinc suplhate leach liquors and/or with untreated zinc caustic solutions. Effects of operational variables on Zn electrowinning have been studied for sulphate and caustic electrolytes in conventional and spouted bed electrochemical cells.

The analysis shows that severe maldistribution may occur especially in region close to the grid and in cases of increased viscosity with possible changes of the character of bubble size distribution. On the other hand, the results show that present CFD models present limited capabilities of describing the real profiles. The results confirm the demand for improved modeling including more accurate and stable numerical solution algorithms.

Mathematical modelling of granulation process represents a useful tool for rules of safe scale-up procedure definition. The same granulator filling ratio, geometrical similitude of granulator and its impeller and chopper, identical peripheral impeller velocity and identical conditions for heat transfer in case of constant all technological and operation parameters are the most important conditions for successful data scale-up.

Subject of present work is submerged, round, unconfined impinging air jet, issuing from a bell-shaped converging nozzle. The aim of the investigation is to describe the vortex structure of the free jets and to examine the possibility of its control.
